This is one fixed 5-limit just-intonation map: 9:8 major second, 45:32 tritone, and 9:5 minor seventh. Pure targets depend on harmonic context; change the root as the chord changes. The selected root stays anchored to equal temperament with A4 fixed at 440 Hz.

QUICK START

Give your ears a reference.

  1. Select your instrument’s transposition at the top of the tuner: Concert Pitch, Bb Instrument, Eb Instrument, or F Instrument. Displayed notes will match the written pitches in your music.
  2. Choose Equal Temperament (like a piano) or Just Intonation (within a given key center).
  3. For just intonation, select the key center or current chord root as written in your music. The concert key appears in parentheses—for example, a Bb trumpet player selects C (Bb Concert) for concert Bb.
  4. Tap Start microphone, allow access, and sustain one note.
  5. A negative cents reading means flat: raise your pitch. A positive reading means sharp: lower it.

Zero means you match the selected tuning target. In just mode, that target may differ from a piano’s pitch.

For winds, make small adjustments with air, embouchure, or instrument length. For strings, adjust finger position. Listen for slower beats and a fuller blend.
